The marcasite is a mineral very similar to pyrite. It has the same chemical composition (FeS2), the same hardness (6 - 61 / 2), the same appearance (yellow brass metallic shine) and is located in the same sources: the iron mines. Only leSystème cristallinest different: the system is marcasite orthorhombic while pyrite cubic belongs to the system.
