PIETERSITE PENDANT (12gr/2.5cm)
Reference PEN-PIETERSITE-PAT
PIETERSITE PENDANT
The Pietersite was discovered in Namibia (country north of South Africa) by
Sid Pieters in 1963 and recorded in the manual mineralogical England in 1964.
The Pietersite is composed of Crocidolite Asbestos type variety of riebeckite. The
process begins with the Hawk Eye, the name given to the variety of blue eye
Tiger. This aggregate is formed when the opaque quartz replaces crocidolite creating a
field with a fractured or iridescent sheen silver. The Pietersite is formed by the
process known as "brecciation. This happens when the structure
fibrous two, Tiger Eye and Hawk Eye is broken through the geological process
earth. These tiny fragments naturally cemented with quartz
to form a finished product with multiple varieties of colors and a beautiful
shimmer.
The Pietersite is extremely rare and is found only in two places: Hunan
China, whose appearance has not been exploited for many years because it was
flooded.
